Sell me an excitement!

I remember that feeling when I had HTC Diamond in my hands for the first time. It was a mix of thrill and excitement. It was exactly that famous wow effect. After mobile phone, it felt like you had all the world at your fingers tips and your PC in the pocket. It was more than just buying a new thing; it was buying a new experience.

Incubators in Ukraine. Concerns

Only 5% (AVentures statistics) of Ukrainian startups can POTENTIALLY get funded by Silicon Valley VCs. There are few reasons why.

  1. US funds will never invest in any non-US company. With very few exceptions. They prefer to work within the same legal field and the same culture. The money will never go out of US simply.

Would you rather save?

We needed one special agreement for the company lately. There were two ways to get this work done. There was an option to download the general template from the web. Most likely it would need some improvements and minor changes. Alternatively, the agreement could have been ordered from the lawyer company. The difference in price would be some $10-15k.

Reading gets more interesting.

Previously I read only one book at a time. I gave it some thought… Probably it had something to do with the idea of keeping the focus and doing only one thing, but doing it real well. Maybe it also addressed the concern of having too many starts and very few ends if you know what I mean… “Yeah, I began to read a new book, just lost interest in the previous.” ))

Ukraine and IT incubators

Ukraine is becoming very hot place given the number of IT incubators opening their doors these days. An incomplete list looks like this: Eastlabs, iHUB, Happy Farm, GrowthUp, Politeco, Wannabiz and VOOMY IT-park. Some implementing western and US models, some inventing their own. From one side, it is a natural trend for the country with these statistics:

Big company or small company

We all know these are different. They represent the different culture, diverse employment opportunities, different patterns of behaviors within the team. Which one brings more opportunities? It appears in a big company there should be more. For people who do not like to work hard, it is easier to “hide” when you have the hundreds of peers within your department alone. Hard workers have more chances to build the career.
